I live for the days I get to have....
Granny's brown beans (simmered all day)
her cornbread muffins (great with butter)
pan fried potatoes
and time with this lady (wearing Ellie's Limited TOO hat). At 97, she still serves us. There really are no words. It's astounding.

Okay, on scrumptious sunday you really should share those recipes! That looks really yummy. I'm not good at making beans so I can use all the help I can get!
And, your grandma is just precious. I remember that her birthday was the first time I was at your blog! It's all her fault I stalk you now! LOL
Thats what I call "comfort food" right there! My husband just doesnt get it because he's from New England, but its always food that I eat with my grandma and I love it!
You are so lucky to have your grandmother still in your life. My grandparents have all passed away. Not to mention she seems like the most awesome grandma in the world.
I just love comfort food. It looks so good.
I miss my great grandma. Yours just made me take a trip down memory lane!
This awesome post brought tears to my eyes, well done. Glad I could help with twitter, let me know what name to follow when you get set up!
AMAZING! Wow, 97????
Oh, what a great post!! I am blessed to have a wonderfully "mature" lady in my life, and it is such a blessing.
That looks like some good ol' southern food to me, too. Yum!!!
Oh my! Someone else loves brown beans and cornbread? It's a staple here in our vegetarian minded household. My dh's in-laws are from WV and it is meal tradition passed down. Love it.
Blessings,
~Toni~
p.s. your grandmother's smile is beautiful!!!
